What I did this summer

Hey!

This summer was completely crazy – COVID summer – chilling inspite of threat outside. It just did not end with eating, sleeping, resting but lead to discoveries. Nothing great, not shocking discoveries. I am movie buff. I just happen to spend time watching Malayalam movies – what got me hooked on it – the language, perhaps. The language has some connect to Tamil. And,of course Lucifer – Brilliant script and excellent actors. I enjoyed it thoroughly.

The bit the movie bug – I could not resist so I saw one after the other. I began with thrillers – watched Memories, Thakasam Sri Thakasharaha – I am a huge Prithivraj fan. Moved to Dulqueer’s portfolio – watched charlie, then switched to catch up with Fahad Faasil’s Trance. Back to Prithivraj, again – Ayyappanum Koshiyum, Driving License. Caught up with Manju Warrior in Vettah – Saw Jayasurya’s Avineesh ,giggled at Mammooty’s Unda.

I slowly realised that – here is an industry which strongly believes in its script – the story is the hero; rather it is always the hero. It’s not the big names and superstars, it’s not the dance numbers, item numbers – it is just simple stories – well-treated, well-addressed and characters sketched relatably and beautifully.

Some of their thrillers leave us asking ourselves if we really need to be a Cop to solve problems. In some investigations, preparators of crime need not always be punished.

Ah! just discovered Vrithriya  in Kannada hope they have got something interesting to offer – I am referring to the Kannada movies now.
